Tour Rules:

  • At minimum, a commitment to the golf etiquette rules of every golf course will be met. We hope to see our players with a golf cap, collared shirt and argyle socks if possible. We want to grow the sport following the guidelines of the USFGA.
  • Keep in mind the pace of play at all times by controlling your kicks and having an easily identifiable ball as well as avoiding kicking your ball in a manner that interferes with the group ahead of you.
  • Kick off your ball from a position up to two steps behind the tee markers; always behind the markers. If done differently there will be a one kick penalty.
  • The ball must be played in a single movement. You are not allowed to push the ball with the top or bottom of your foot. Your foot should be set separate from the ball and clearly behind the ball before each kick.
  • Wait to play until the ball has completely come to rest, even when you are close to the hole. There will be an automatic two kick penalty added to your score in said hole if the ball is not at rest before kicking.
  • Play the ball from where it lies. You are not allowed to move the ball or remove jammed objects. Exception: You may mark the spot and lift the ball when it may obstruct the other player’s kick or ball in any way.
  • The player farthest from the hole is the first to kick the ball.
  • The order of play is established based on the score of the previous hole. The player with the best score will kick off first on the next hole followed by the second best score and so on.
  • If the ball in play is moved or deflected or stopped by another ball the player must play his ball as it is and replace the ball moved. There is no penalty unless both balls are on the putting green in which case the player who hit the other's ball incurs a penalty of two kicks added to his/her score in said hole.
  • If the ball lands in a water hazard, retrieve or replace it within 2 steps from the closest land point from where the ball entered the hazard marked by a red, yellow line or a tree line, receiving a one kick penalty or you can place the ball at the position of the previous kick and receive a one kick penalty.
  • Sand Bunkers: If your ball is in a sand hazard you may play the ball as it lies without penalty. Do not touch the sand or loosen impediments prior to playing ball as it may add a penalty kick to the player's score if doing so. Please, rake the bunker after kicking your ball.
  • Out of bounds markers are marked with white stakes. The player will repeat his/her kick from which he/she played his/her original kick and add one penalty kick to the score.
  • A player must not make a kick while another ball is in motion.
  • Loose impediments: (branches, rocks, leaves, stones, natural objects, etc.) can be removed. If the ball is moved while attempting to remove loose impediments, player receives a one kick penalty.
  • Movable obstructions: (artificial movable objects such as rakes, tin cans, etc..) Can be moved without penalty. If the ball is moved it must be replaced without penalty. Example: the ball resting against a rake.
  • Immovable obstructions: You can lift and drop a ball without penalty but not closer to the hole. Example: a sign or a sprinkler head or under a cart, etc..
  • The player is the only one who can declare his/her ball as unplayable. Example: My soccer ball is deep in the bushes. In this case you have options: 1. Play a ball from where the original kick was, or, 2. Drop a ball behind the point where the ball lies in a straight line to the flag, or, 3. Drop the ball within the length of two steps from where the ball lay, not closer to the hole. All options receive a one kick penalty.
  • If the FootGolf ball lies on the putting green used for regular golf, the ball should be removed and dropped on the closest ground off of the golf green and within two steps of the golf green and not closer to the FootGolf hole without penalty.
  • Players should not stand close to the player or player's ball or directly behind the ball or directly behind the hole when another player is about to play.
  • In competition, if there is doubt of a rule decision, let your fellow competitors know that you will be playing two balls to finish that hole. Keep both scores and bring the situation up to a Rules Official when available and he will choose which score to the player should use on said hole.
  • Keep the rules with you and obey them at all times to protect the rest of the field.
  • In the event that a situation occurs that's not covered in these rules, the Rules Official will make a final decision that will be in the best interest of the participant and the rest of the field.
